Funding arrangements

The Interim Commissioner for Victims and Survivors, Bertha McDougal, has published an initial report on funding available to victims in Northern Ireland. In it she notes that to date there has been no long term strategic plan to fund or provide adequate services to victims.
The Interim Commissioner, points out that a lack of coordination has led to duplication of funding, gaps in funding, over administration and an incomplete picture of provision.
Since 1998 government has provided £36.4 million in funding to victims and survivors and European funding has provided a further £7.6 million.
